Customer Segments - Standard Configurations

Create rules that will dynamically assign the customers to predefined segments based on behaviour, spend, status, visitation and more. Please see below for some standard customer segments that can be created for the venue:

Customers

This configuration is the best way to send all opted-in customers to the ROLLER Mail platform, every platform should have this configured. If the business has multiple venues but one ROLLER Mail account, we recommend creating a list for each location in ROLLER Mail and create a segment in each platform for every location and link it up to its appropriate list

Send all ROLLER customers

Setting up a segment with no rule will automatically send all opted-in customers to the ROLLER Mail list that's specified

Date options

'Booking date' and 'Last visit date' (most recent attendance) allow filtering around dates using the following options:

  • is equal to - choose all bookings booked on a specific date
  • is before - choose all bookings prior to a specific date
  • is after - allows to send data after a specific date
  • does not equal - all bookings except on a specific date (a date the venue is closed)
  • is on or before - for bookings on a specific date or prior to that date
  • is on or after - for bookings on a specific date or prior to that date
  • between - all bookings during a specific timeframe

Please note: Depending on what informaiton you require, it is important to create a custom field for 'Booking Date' and/or 'Attendance Date' in the ROLLER Mail list so that the date data for each customer record will be transferred across when you match the fields. date.png

In the ROLLER Mail list, please ensure that the data type is "Date" Screen_Shot_2018-08-02_at_1.59.58_pm.png

Sending continuous data

Using the 'is after' option, this setting allows sending bookings after a specific date which means it'll continuously send data through the integration as per the segment push settings. If implementing this configuration, we recommend selecting the date the venue opened or the start date of using the ROLLER platform

Sending data from a date range

The 'is between' option allows you to choose a date range such as a week, month or year. In this example, we are segmenting the data for all bookings where the last visit date is for the month of July. Similar to this configuration, there is the option to create segments to link up to lists for bookings for each year

Postcode

Currently, postcode can only be filtered through:

  • is equal to
  • is not equal to

Please note: It is important to create a custom field for 'Postcodes' in the ROLLER Mail list so that the postcode data for each customer record will be transferred across when you match the fields

In the ROLLER Mail list, the data type for Postcode can be set to "Text" as some countries have alphanumeric postcodesScreen_Shot_2018-08-02_at_2.00.28_pm.png

Target customers with specific postcode

This segment will send through data for all customers that have the postcode 3000

Target customers with one of the following postcodes

Using the 'OR' operators, this configuration is set to send through customers that have either a postcode of 3299, 3204 or 3000

Send all postcode data

To send all postcode data through, set the segment to 'is not equal to' and leave the value blank. This will send through all bookings that have postcode information

Then from your list in ROLLER Mail, you can create more customised segments from the data using options like:

  • does not match exactly
  • contains
  • starts with
  • ends with

In this example, I want postcodes that start with 3 to represent Victoria

Send customer data for customers who have bought a specific product

Segment by product types

Filter customers that have specifically purchased:

  • Add-ons
  • Annual passes
  • Session passes
  • Standard passes
  • Stock

In this case, the example shows that all products under the Annual passes category is selected

Select specific products or ticket types

By using the search bar, type in the names of the products or ticket types to select the specific items wanted such as Parties as demonstrated, or the products that might be Fitness related

Date of Birth

Date of Birth is currently only available for clients utilising our Waivers module and the information that is only transferred currently is for the customer that is the booking holder (the patron who made the booking), if the booking holder has minors under his booking, please note that these are not transferred across

Please note: It is important to create a custom field for 'Date of Birth' or 'Birthday' in the ROLLER Mail list so that the birthday data for each customer record will be transferred across when you match the fields

Send birthday data

Similar to the postcode configuration, to send all birthday data through, set the segment to be after a specific date in the past so it sends through all your customers birthday data through

Booking status

Send ROLLER customers based on their status

Setting up a segment with the booking status set to 'is booked', will automatically send all opted-in customers to the ROLLER Mail list that don't have a cancelled booking. This is a good way to target customers that have been to the venue already.

Want to target cancelled bookings? From the drop-down, select 'is cancelled' instead

Spend

Filter by customers 'Total spend' or 'Average spend' to find out which customers are the big spenders. Total spend is the total amount a customer has spent at the venue whilst Average spend is calculated from total spend divided by the total number of bookings.

Please note that if a segment is created with either spend options along with products and/or date filter, it will filter based on these total or average sales figures a customer has at the venue in entirety, it will not filter in relation to the total spend within a date range or if the total spend for a specific product is more than $50.

Spend can be filtered by:

  • is equal to
  • is greater than
  • is less than

Filter customers by spend

Type in an amount that the total spend and/or average spend to be filtered by and it'll send those customer records to the ROLLER Mail list
